System Requirements

Compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11

WBS Schedule Pro was developed for and is fully compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11.

Windows XP and Vista

WBS Schedule Pro is compatible with Windows Vista. WBS Schedule Pro was tested on Windows XP and works with the exception of a few minor display issues. Due to the fact that Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows XP and Vista, Critical Tools cannot be responsible for issues when running WBS Schedule Pro on an XP/Vista system and may not be able to help should issues arise.

Memory and Disk Space

WBS Schedule Pro requires a minimum amount of memory. If you are running Windows efficiently you have enough memory.

WBS Schedule Pro takes less than 25Mb of disk space when installed. The file sizes of some of the larger projects are usually less than 1Mb.

Networks

WBS Schedule Pro runs on all major networks.

WBS Schedule Pro works in a Citrix environment.

Microsoft Project

WBS Schedule Pro integrates with and is fully compatible with the following versions of Microsoft Project:

Project 98
Project 2000
Project 2002
Project 2003
Project 2007
Project 2010
Project 2013
Project 2016*
Project 2019**
Project 2021**

This includes full compatibility with the Standard and Professional versions of these where applicable.

WBS Schedule Pro integrates with the following Non-English versions of Microsoft Project: Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Korean, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish & Swedish.

*Project 2016 support was added in October, 2015 and is only available in WBS Schedule Pro version 5.1.0014 or later. Go to the Download page for details on upgrading to the latest version.

** Project 2019 and Project 2021 identify as Project 2016 internally. This means that when using Project 2019 or Project 2021 with WBS Schedule Pro you may see messages referring to Project 2016. This is normal and these messages can be ignored. If you are having issues integrating WBS Schedule Pro with any version of MS Project, see the article below.

Note: You do not need Microsoft Project to run WBS Schedule Pro.

Project Server

WBS Schedule Pro works with plans Published in Project Server 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 by going through Microsoft Project. It is similar to the way you create and manage Project Server Published plans using Microsoft Project. WBS Schedule Pro does not access the Project Server data directly but via Microsoft Project Professional or Project 2010/2013/2016 Standard.

WBS Schedule Pro can be installed into Microsoft Project so you can create charts of your Published plans from Project Server. Create charts from Published plans by opening these plans in Microsoft Project and clicking the buttons. This will create a WBS/Network/Task Sheet of a Published plan that is dynamically linked to this plan. Any changes you make to the project is instantly reflected in Microsoft Project and updated in Project Server the next time you publish your plan.

Microsoft Word

The WBS Dictionary Export feature uses Microsoft Word to produce the WBS Dictionary document of the current project. The use of this feature requires Microsoft Word 2003 or greater.

Microsoft Excel

The use of the Excel Import/Export feature requires Microsoft Excel 2003 or greater.

Apple Mac Operating System

WBS Schedule Pro only runs under Windows. WBS Schedule Pro can run in the Mac OS using a Windows emulator or on a Mac with a duel boot system that runs Windows. Many users with Apple products have been successful using Vine, Parallels or Bootcamp to run WBS Schedule Pro.
